【 Magazine Number 77 December 2001 】
Yes it is that time of year where the world celebrates
peace and goodwill.
For some it is Santa Claus and for others it is just a
time to have a cake.
Whatever you do it does not matter but enjoy yourself and
those around you.
Peace is something we all need to think about especially as we finish this
and move into 2002.
We all have to do our part at making this world a great
place to live.
So whether you do something nice for a stranger, or a friend, just do a good deed
and do not seek a thank you.
Peace on earth and goodwill to everyone.
Some ideas for unselfish good deeds.......
Pay the toll for the person behind you
( When you are driving on the expressway)
Help an older person carry their groceries to their car or
Give flowers to your neighbors
Adopt a child through Unicef for 2002
Go to a hospital on Christmas and give a small present to someone
who has no visitors ( ask the nurses first as you would be surprised
at how many people have no family to visit them.)
Buy a 100 yen umbrella and give it to someone who does not have one
and it is raining.
Give the postman a gift
Give the gift of a smile...it is free and it spreads joy
Answer to a Question....
I wanted to eat sushi in Australia, is there a good place
to eat sushi?
Yes, there are many, many places that sell sushi
If you want reasonably cheap sushi try the Sushi Train as there is one
in almost every big city.
I have heard that one of the best places to have sushi is the ANA Sushi Bar
The address is....
176 Cumberland Street
The Rocks, Sydney.
Answer to a Question....
I was a student in the United States and at Christmas time they drank
a drink called Eggnog.
I was too shy to ask for the recipe so could you tell me
how to make it.
Just be careful as this recipe has raw eggs and it is recommended
in the States that Pregnant women, young children, the elderly
and infirm do not have raw eggs.
It takes about 30 minutes to make.
4 egg yolks
1 can of sweetened condensed milk
1 tablespoon of white sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla
4 and a half cups of milk
4 egg whites
2 tablespoons of rum
one quarter of a teaspoon of nutmeg (powder)
In a large bowl beat the egg yolks until they are
thickened and light.
Stir in the condensed milk, sugar, vanilla and milk little
Beat the egg whites until they are stiff then add them to
Add rum and sprinkle the nutmeg on the top.
I hope you love this as it is a tradition in the US
and if you have a friend there in Japan from the US
then this would be a treat for them.
Santa has to be fast
There are 2 billion children in the world so Santa has 1/1000th of a second
park his sleigh
jump down the chimney
fill the stockings
eat the cookie and milk that the children put there for
get back up the chimney
hop back in
and move to the next house!
