1<Ken>: Hello, everybody. I'm your host Ken Toyama, and for the next
15 minutes, you'll be listening to "Eikaiwa Jokyu." Here with me
today at the studio are my partners, Carolyn Miller.
2<Carolyn>: Hello, and welcome to the program. I hope you enjoy
learning English with us.
3<Ken>: And Chris Wells.
4<Chris>: It's a pleasure to be here. I hope you enjoy the show. Are
we set, Ken?
6<Ken>: We are all set.
9<Carolyn & Chris>: Okey-dokey! Here we go!
----------------------
A Bad Case of the Flu
----------------------
10<Chris>: Ooh, that doesn't sound good. What's that about, Ken?
-----------------
Key Interactions
-----------------
11<Ken>: Carolyn, what would you say?
12<Carolyn>: Well, it looks like there's a possibility of losing
viewers, so a great phrase for expressing this is "you'll run the
risk of," that's our key phrase.
13<Ken>: Right.
14<Carolyn>: So, "You'll run the risk of losing viewers to...," and
after your great hint. "Your competitor's show."
15<Ken>: Right.
16<Carolyn>: And then in the last sentence, a great way to express,
you know, something that's very popular, we could say "highly," so
"It's highly popular right now."
---------------------
17<Ken>: Chris, what would you say?
18<Chris>: Well, when someone says something wrong, the key phrase
is a great way to softly let them know that they are off track, so,
"That's a common misconception."
19<Chris>: And now you provide them with the explanation, the new
information if you will, so, "Bugs are programming errors in the
software."
20<Chris>: And then at the end, you could say, "What you've got is a
computer virus."
-----------------
Commercial Break
-----------------
21<Ken>: What's the question?
22<Carolyn>: Well, looks like we have a new sponsor. We want to
know, "What is this commercial about?"
23<Carolyn & Chris>: We'll be right back after this message.
24<Ken>: Don't go away.
-----------------------------------------
25<Ken>: So, what was the question again?
26<Carolyn>: Sure, Ken. "What is this commercial about?"
27<Ken>: Chris, did you catch it?
28<Chris>: I did, I did. They were speaking pretty quickly, but the
answer is, it's about the Apple Valley Annual Spring Garden Tour.
-----------------
Another Situation
-----------------
29<Ken>: Now, what's the new situation like?
30<Carolyn>: Well, this time, two senior citizens are on the phone.
The man has caught a bug.
-------------------------------
31) Maybe I've caught something from you after all.
32) Oh, Agnes, you can't catch a cold over the phone.
-------------------------------
33<Ken>: Well, that's about it for today, so until next time.
34<Chris>: Keep listening.
35<Carolyn>: Keep practicing.
36<Ken>: And keep on smiling.
37<Carolyn, Chris & Ken>: Bye!
